Doi Inthanon is the highest mountain (elevation 2565 meter) in Thailand. The mountain was additionally known within the past as Doi Luang (meaning massive mountain) or Doi Ang Ka, that means the crow's pond top. Close to the mountain's base was a pond where many crows gathered. The name Doi Inthanon was given in honour of the king Inthawichayanon, one in all the last kings of Chiang Mai, who was involved regarding the forests in the north and tried to preserve them.
